Timeless Trust

“Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.” ~ Psalm 9:10

Let Me tell you, child,

A truth to savor,

One to bring blessing,

Joy and favor,

One to bring rest,

Peace sweet and deep,

One to bring happiness

In your days, your sleep,

One to uplift

Your heart and soul,

One to make you happy,

To make you whole…

This truth, My child,

Is that what you must do

Is to trust in all

I provide to you.

So when the rain comes,

When the sun does shine,

You must trust fully

In My will divine.

When the sky is blue,

When the clouds are gray,

When dark is the night,

When bright is the day,

Trust in Me,

Yes, trust with your all,

In each and every thing,

Both big and small.

Then you will find

Peace sweet and deep,

Bountiful the fruit

You will reap.

Yes, My child,

This is a truth to savor:

Trust always in Me

For true joy and favor!

Everlasting Arms

“The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms..” Deuteronomy 33:27a

In Your everlasting arms

Is where I will be

For there I find peace

Sweetly embrace me.

There I find joy

Boundless and true;

There I feel love

Flowing from You.

There I know purpose

Infinite and pure;

There I know

I am safe and secure.

So, my sweet Jesus,

Hold me ever near,

For there in Your arms

I have nothing to fear.

Heaven is Your smile,

Paradise is Your kiss;

Being in Your presence

Is true love and bliss.

A lovelier place

I will never know,

As limitless love

In Your arms I know.

Yes, here I find joy

Boundless and true;

Here I feel love

Flowing from You.

In Your everlasting arms

Is where I will be,

Close to Your heart

For all eternity.

With loving eyes

I look upon you

In all that you say,

All that you do.

Nothing at all

Can stop My love,

As I look upon you

From Heaven above.

Though imperfect you are,

I shed My grace,

I shine upon your path

With My radiant face.

I fill your heart

With eternal sweet song,

I lift you in My arms

Tender yet strong.

Why do I do this?

Because I love you so;

I kiss you with blessings

Wherever you go.

Even when you stumble,

When you turn from Me,

I love you with a love

That endures eternally.

So be happy, My child,

In this truth rejoice;

Let hymns of angels

Resound in your voice.

For your God, your King,

Loves you tremendously;

Open your heart wide

That miracles you see.

Surely you will find

Luminous streams of love

Flowing to you

From Heaven above…

Your heart to refresh,

Your mind to renew.

Yea, with loving eyes

I look upon you!

Make Room for Miracles

Purposeful Pathway is the haven for faith-based entrepreneurs. Part of my mission is equipping faith-based businesses with information that is practical, actionable and Scriptural.

The theme of this post is making room for miracles!

So often in our faith-based businesses we rely on our own strength and intelligence and power. We plan and plan. We construct and control. We draw outlines and devise structures. Beneficial as it is to prepare, and it most certainly is, we still do well to leave room for miracles.

How do we make room for miracles? Let’s look at seven steps for doing just that:

Embrace the unknown. Do you have a vision in your heart, yet you are not sure how it could possibly come to fruition? Rather than dismiss it, embrace it and smile. God has graced you with a beautiful vision for a reason, and He will pave your steps if you cling to Him with the hand of faith. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
Take the next best step. Now that you have embraced (rather than dismissed) the “crazy” vision, it’s time to take the next best step. Is your dream, for example, to travel the world? Get a passport. Start a language program. Register for emails from travel web sites. Go ahead and take a step, the next best step, of faith.
Be ready to redirect. Did you take a step and encounter a challenge? Don’t worry. Natural paths in the forest never unfold in a straight line. There are twists and turns, and these add to the mystery and the fun. Trust God to lead you, even if it means constant course correcting along the way.
Expect varying visions. Expect your visions to change. God often directs only one step at a time; so too He often gives only one glimpse of a vision at a time. Your vision of a national ministry, for example, may evolve to a vision of an international ministry. Allow space in your heart for the visions to grow in God’s grace.
Dedicate all to the Divine. As you are taking each step, keep Christ at the center of your path. Wherever you go, whatever you do, dedicate all to the glory of God. He will surely bless your steps. “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31)
Rejoice in your weaknesses. Stumbling along the way is inevitable. Yet our weaknesses, shortcomings and failures are the windows by which God demonstrates most powerfully His strength. Rejoice in your weaknesses, as they provide space for miracles. “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)
Marvel the miracles. Surely you will see miracles unfold if you faithfully apply the previous steps; marvel these miracles and lift praise to God. The more we give thanks, the more we behold God’s grace.

I encourage you to give space for grace and to make room for miracles. Surely your business will grow and your joy will burgeon. “Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’” (Matthew 19:26)

Nothing is lovelier,

Lord, than You,

Nothing is lovelier,

Yes, it’s true:

No flower blooming,

No bright morning sky,

No majestic mountain,

No bird on high,

No glorious sunrise,

No river flowing,

No sparkling snowflake,

No star glowing,

No laughter, no smile,

No baby to be born,

No lush summer garden,

No dew drops of morn.

No, nothing is lovelier,

My Lord, than You,

You are love in all I see,

Love in all I do.

I ask then, Jesus,

To be always with me;

Live here in my heart

For all eternity.

And let me also

In Your heart abide,

Allow me to travel

By Your lovely side.

For You are lovelier

Than every morning sky,

Every majestic mountain,

Every bird on high…

Yes, nothing is lovelier,

My Lord, than You,

For You Yourself are Love

Timeless and true!

“He dawns on them like the morning light, like the sun shining forth on a cloudless morning, like rain that makes grass to sprout from the earth.” ~ 2 Samuel 23:4

Sunshine and rain,

You need both, My child,

The days that are stormy,

The days that are mild,

The rains that pour,

The skies of bright blue,

Winters to rest,

Springtimes to renew,

The sowing, the harvest,

The night, the day,

The cloudless skies,

The dark skies of gray,

For tell Me, child,

Have you seen the flower,

What makes it grow?

What is its power?

Surely the blossom

Needs sun and rain,

Just as the soul

Needs joy and pain.

So trust Me always

In all that I send,

For I am Your Guide,

Always Your Friend.

I allow in your life

Only what is best,

While here in My arms

You find sweet rest.

Should the raindrops

Pour from the sky,

Should the tears

Stream from your eye,

Remember these waters

Nourish blossoms to grow,

Remember in pain

My grace does grow.

I give winters to rest,

Springtimes to renew,

The rains that pour,

The skies of blue,

Compassion of Christ

“Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” (Hebrews 4:14-16 NIV)

With tender eyes

You look upon me,

Extending Your hand,

Giving mercy,

Showing compassion

For all of my pain,

Wiping my tears

Again and again,

Whispering to me

Words to heal,

Relating each moment

To how I feel…

Yes, sweet compassion,

Tenderness true,

Limitless love

I find in You.

No pain of mine

Do You not know,

Everything I feel

You feel also.

Tempted You were

In every way,

So You understand my frailty

Day by day.

Richly You bless

From Your throne of grace

With immeasurable mercy,

An eternal embrace,

Showing compassion

For all of my pain,

Revealing the treasures

In You I gain.

Yes, extending Your hand,

You give mercy:

Such compassion, O Jesus,

You have for me!

All I need is You, Lord,

Yes, You are all I need,

The eternal hunger of my spirit

You forever feed,

The longings of my soul

You satisfy with love,

My mind You ever fill

With Heaven above,

The song of my heart

You compose and play,

The steps of my life

You order on my pathway,

So all I need is You, Lord,

Yes, You are everything,

The reason I smile,

The happy song I sing.

Should ever I forget

How much You mean to me,

Lead me to Your Cross

There upon Calvary.

There You give me

Everything, indeed more;

There from Your wounds

Love and mercy pour.

I choose then, Jesus,

To live for You alone,

My will make Yours,

My steps make Your own.

You are my life,

You are light and love,

You are my treasured treasure

Reigning high above.

Yes, all I need is You,

You are all I need,

May I glorify You then

In every word, every deed!

Radiant Reminders

Singing in my heart

Is a sweet song,

Reminding that with Jesus

I do belong,

Playing in my mind

Are visions of love,

Fixed are my eyes

On Heaven above,

Radiating in my soul

Is Jesus’ light,

Reminding me always

Of His mercy and might.

Yes, singing and praying,

Radiating and glowing,

Surrounding and abounding,

Guiding and showing,

Are the many reminders

Of my Jesus, my King,

Surely then for Him

My heart does sing.

So come, everyone,

Join me, sister and brother,

Let us be ourselves

Reminders to one another:

Let our love for the Lord

Ever radiantly shine

That we see in each other

His pure love divine.

Yes, let our words

Be rich with sweet love,

Let our eyes sparkle

With Heaven above,

Peace, Sweet Peace

Peace, sweet peace

Through my soul flows,

For Jesus controls all,

This my heart knows.

Winds may be cold,

Storms may rage,

Yet Jesus brings peace,

Every fear to assuage.

Pain may confront me,

Trials may beset,

Loneliness may challenge

With tears and regret.

Yet none can stand

Against Jesus’ power,

So peace, sweet peace,

I know every hour.

Won’t you, dear one,

Know His peace too?

Won’t you allow Jesus

To care for you?

Your tears He dries,

Your pain He erases,

Your worries He melts

With His warm embraces.

So come, my friend,

Jesus let us praise,

For He is the Source

Of our peace always.

Winds may be cold,

The storms may rage,

But He reigns with victory

From age to age.

Yea, peace, sweet peace,

Through our souls will flow

As in Lord Jesus’ steps

We choose to follow!
