Sunshine and Rain

“He dawns on them like the morning light, like the sun shining forth on a cloudless morning, like rain that makes grass to sprout from the earth.” ~ 2 Samuel 23:4
Sunshine and rain,
You need both, My child,
The days that are stormy,
The days that are mild,
The rains that pour,
The skies of bright blue,
Winters to rest,
Springtimes to renew,
The sowing, the harvest,
The night, the day,
The cloudless skies,
The dark skies of gray,
For tell Me, child,
Have you seen the flower,
What makes it grow?
What is its power?
Surely the blossom
Needs sun and rain,
Just as the soul
Needs joy and pain.
So trust Me always
In all that I send,
For I am Your Guide,
Always Your Friend.
I allow in your life
Only what is best,
While here in My arms
You find sweet rest.
Should the raindrops
Pour from the sky,
Should the tears
Stream from your eye,
Remember these waters
Nourish blossoms to grow,
Remember in pain
My grace does grow.
I give winters to rest,
Springtimes to renew,
The rains that pour,
The skies of blue,
The days that are stormy,
The days that are mild;
Yes, sunshine and rain,
I give both, My child!
