“He dawns on them like the morning light, like the sun shining forth on a cloudless morning, like rain that makes grass to sprout from the earth.” (2 Samuel 23:4)

Sitting in sunshine

I feel Your love

Embracing me sweetly

From Heaven above,

Touching me gently

With joy, with bliss,

Melting me happily

In Your sweet kiss,

Lifting me happily

To highest heights,

Opening my eyes

To loveliest sights…

Yes, I feel Your love

In sweet sunshine,

A taste of heaven,

Of courts divine,

So Your praise

I so joyfully sing,

Smiling gratefully

At bliss You bring,

Dancing so freely

With happiness pure,

Celebrating a love

To always endure,

Lifting me up

To heavenly heights,

Brightening even

Darkest of nights,

Raising me high

In joy endless,

Melting me happily

In Your sweet kiss…

Yes, sitting in Sonshine

Streaming from above,

Jesus, O Jesus,

I feel Your love!

Poem: Above the Clouds

Above the Clouds

Above the Clouds - Poem by Caroline Gavin

“He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the LORD and put their trust in him.” (Psalm 40:2-3)

When dark were the skies
Looming above me,
When troubled clouds
Were all I could see,

When the rain fell
Relentlessly around,
When barren before me
The once fertile ground,

When bitter tears fell
In endless streams,
When sleep was beset
With unhappy dreams,

I looked up to You
Your Name I did cry,
I called on my Lord,
My God the Most High.

And You outstretched lovingly
Your gentle hand,
You whispered so tenderly
The good You planned,

You held me close,
Drying each tear,
With lullabies of love
You allayed each fear,

You lifted me high
Above clouds once looming,
You pointed to me
Countless flowers blooming…

And so I now sing
Though the tears once fell,
As glorious is the story
Of my Jesus I tell.

Deep in my heart
He has restored sweet song,
While lifting me high
In His arms so strong…

O, yes, I have Jesus,
How can I ask for more?
Now high above the clouds
My heart does soar!

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows…” (Psalm 23:1-5)

Though the way be treacherous,
The path unclear,
My heart ever heavy
With trembling, with fear,

The ground beneath me
Rocky and steep,
Though the peace of rest
Elude me at sleep,

I will look to You,
Your Name I will cry,
I will see Your face
Through tear-stained eye,

I will smile again
To feel Your hand,
I will rest assured
In all You planned,

I will sing Your praise
As You lift me up,
I will rejoice to drink
Your overflowing cup,

I will dance with abandon
In Your eternal light,
I will burst with joy
Through day, through night.

Yes, I will look up
To You, Most High,
For in clinging to You
My soul does fly,

My heart delights
That me You keep
As Your precious beloved
Little sheep…

And I will release
Every single fear,
For Lord Jesus, my Shepherd,
You are near!

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you…” (1 Peter 5:7)

Into My hands
All things release,
My sweet child,
For perfect peace.

Let not any care
On your heart weigh,
Let not any trial
Dim light of your day,

Let not any loss
Shake your soul to sigh,
Let not any pain
Make your eyes to cry.

Child, give all to Me,
I ask you this:
Enter My peace,
My happiness.

How I long for you
To know joy sweet,
Inspiring song in your voice,
Dance in your feet,

To feel My love
In all you do,
Yes, this I desire
So much for you.

Come to Me,
I will lift you high,
Making your heart to soar,
Your spirit to fly,

Making your night
As bright as day,
Shining with love
Every step of the way…

Yes, into My hands
Everything release,
My sweet child,
For perfect peace!

Poem: Eyes on Eternity

Eyes on Eternity

Poem: Eyes on Eternity

Image courtesy Tom Curtis at www.freedigitalphotos.net

“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal…” 2 Corinthians 4:18

Little child,

Look up now at me,

Fix your sweet eyes

On eternity,

Let not the trials

On your heart weigh,

Let not the challenges

Darken your day,

Let not your song

Drown in tears,

Let not your hope

Dwindle in fears.

No, little one,

Have faith, be strong,

Remember with Me

You forever belong.

Surely I embrace

With love deep and true,

Surely I give

Only goodness to you.

So accept all things

As from My grace,

Choose to feel My love,

To see My face,

To hear My song

Ringing ever clear,

To experience My presence

Always near,

To savor My comfort

When all is awry,

To smile as I wipe

Every tear you cry.

My little one,

Bright is every day

When you cling to Me

On this Heaven-bound way,

So keep your sweet eyes

Fixed on eternity…

Yes, My precious one,

Keep your eyes on Me!

“While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.” (Genesis 8:22)

Remember, My child,
When cold it may be,
In the winter of life
You are closest to me,

Yes, just as the sun
Hovers closest to earth
In the coldest season
Before spring rebirth,

So too I am with you
Indeed all the more
When the snow falls,
When cold rain does pour.

So do not grow weary,
Do not let tears fall,
For Your Jesus is here
Throughout it all.

I am kissing your days
With brightest sunshine
I am warming your heart
With pure love divine,

I am filling your soul
With peace deep and pure,
I am uplifting your spirit
With love to endure,

So embrace the storms,
The bitter cold days too,
For I promise, little one,
I am all the closer to you.

Yes, rejoice, My child,
When cold it may be,
For in the winter of life
You are closest to me!

Poem: Nothing Can Stop Jesus’ Love

Nothing Can Stop Jesus' Love

Nothing Can Stop Jesus’ Love

Nothing Can Stop Jesus' Love

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39)

Nothing can stop

My love for you,

Dear little child,

Trust this is true:

No challenge, no mountain,

No hill too high,

No rain, no storm,

No cloud in the sky,

No angel, no demon,

No queen, no king,

No height, no depth,

No, truly nothing…

So why do allow

Your eyes to tear?

Why do you give in

To worry and fear?

Trust, little one,

Yes, trust in My love;

Keep your eyes fastened

On Heaven above,

Surely My grace

There you will see,

As you are a treasure

Forever to Me.

This is a promise

From Jesus, Your King:

My love abounds

Through everything,

It spans the distances,

Stretches across the sky,

Fills the oceans,

Climbs the mountain high…

So, My little one,

Trust this to be true:

Nothing can stop

My love for you!

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” (John 10:27)

Lord, help me to hear You,

When dim is the way,

Help to me to discern

The words that You say,

Enrich me with wisdom,

Show me what to do,

Guide me in ways

To always honor You,

Teach me Your statutes,

Align me with Your will,

Make me to long

All the more for You still.

Yes, Lord, help me

Your voice to hear,

Ring Your wisdom

In my heart ever clear,

Let the beauty of Your way

Grace all that I see,

Let my eyes be fixed

On sweet eternity,

Let my soul rejoice

In being forever Yours,

Let my spirit bask

In Your love that pours.

So much I love You,

Let my love be greater still,

As I delight in Your way,

As I rejoice in Your will,

Lord, I smile to live

My every day for You,

I offer all I am,

All I say, all I do…

Yes, help to me to discern

The words You say…

Because, Jesus, I live for You

Today and every day!

Poem: Graces to Savor

Graces to Savor

Graces to Savor

Graces to Savor

“Taste and see that the Lord is good;
blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.” (Psalm 34:8)

My little child,

Come now to hear

The sound of the ocean

Splashing so clear,

The sound of the breeze

Dancing through trees,

The sounds of gulls

Over the seas,

The sounds of children

Happy at play,

The sounds of birds

On a beautiful day…

Yes, little child,

Come now to see

My blessings of bliss,

My graces of beauty,

For these are the things

Which make life sweet:

The feeling of sand

Beneath your feet,

The peaceful lake,

The mountain high,

The verdant grass,

The brilliant sky,

The smile of a baby,

The song of a child,

The rhythm of the ocean,

Melodic and mild.

Yes, little child,

These gifts do savor,

Embrace my blessings,

Embrace my favor,

As I am the Giver

Of all good things,

Inspiring your spirit

To fly on wings,

To lift you high

When you are down,

To transform to smiles

Your every frown.

So as a child

Ever happy at play,

Embrace My gifts

On your purposeful way,

Smile joyfully

At the dance of trees,

Sing with the gulls

Of the happy seas,

Yes, clap with the waves

Splashing so clear…

And rejoice to know

I Am always near!

In Loving Memory of My Grandmother

In Loving Memory of My Grandmother

Ida Jean Antczak: March 27, 1922 to July 12, 2014

Ida Jean Antczak: March 27, 1922 to July 12, 2014

“She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: ‘Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.’ Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” (Proverbs 31:25-30)

Who is Nana?

You ask this of me;

She is the beauty

Of many a memory,

She is the smile

Brightening the day,

She is the wisdom

Lighting the way.

She is the warmth

Making a home sweet,

She is the embrace

When her I greet,

She is a wife,

A daughter, a mother,

An example of one

Loving one another.

She is my grandmother,

She is my friend,

She is rich with generosity,

Of love without end,

She is God’s beloved,

She is His sweet child,

She reflects His virtues,

Bold yet mild.

She is in Jesus’ arms,

Resting with delight,

Heaven and its glory

Are now in her sight,

With Papa she plays,

With the angels she sings

In joy and adoration

To our King of kings…

So who is Nana?

She is the source of this song,

The reason our hearts

Beat with love strong.

Yes, though she has departed,

From me she will never part —

For my Nana is with Jesus,

My Nana is in my heart.

May you rest eternally in Jesus’ loving arms, Nana! We love you!
