“Tree with Light” by Dan

We approach now a New Year, a time of new beginnings.

Excitement and anticipation fill the air,

as resolutions and intentions are set everywhere.

Taking time to reflect upon the last year

and plan for the new year is a powerful practice.

I encourage you to write goals in all areas of life

and then break those goals into action steps with clear deadlines.

Ensure that your goals meet the “SMART” specifications:

Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timed.

Doing so will bear great fruit,

as stretching one’s self with goals aligned to God’s Will

yields both exhilarating growth and great glory to God.

~*~

I pray that you look most deeply at the spiritual aspect of your goals.

Areas such as family, career, finances and health are certainly important;

yet of highest import is the relationship with the Creator,

for spiritual fruit is eternal.

Contemplate deeply how you can grow

in your intimacy with the LORD and in your service to Him.

~*~

Will it be through longer and more focused prayer time?

More structure in Bible study?

More giving of one’s self and one’s resources?

Greater attentiveness to the Presence of God moment to moment?

Commitment to full surrender to God in all areas?

A combination of these and other goals?

And how will you measure the fulfillment of these goals?

How will you break down the goals and time the action steps?

How will you hold yourself accountable?

~*~

These are just some questions to consider as you write your spiritual goals.

Truly our Father makes all things new.

He renews faith.

He restores hearts.

He transforms sorrow to joy.

He makes a crown of the cross.

He creates from death…New Life.

~*~

“He who was seated on the throne said, ‘I am making everything new!’
Then he said, ‘Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.’
He said to me: ‘It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega,
the Beginning and the End.
To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost
from the spring of the water of life.
He who overcomes will inherit all this,
and I will be his God and he will be my son.’ “
(Revelation 21:5-7)

~*~

Entering a New Year, then, we celebrate the New Life

God gives through the redemptive Sacrifice of Christ Jesus.

I am deeply grateful for you,

and I am happy to celebrate divine renewal and rejuvenation with you.

~*~

As always, if you would like help along your journey,

~*~

God bless you, and I pray divine peace, love and joy fill your heart

and your days in 2013…and always!

May the Lord be with you as you are preparing for a New Year!

Snowflakes falling,

Wide fields of white,

A wintry world,

Behold the sight:

~*~

Fields once green

Now covered with snow,

Blankets of white

Where flowers did grow.

~*~

Dark are the days,

Gray are the skies,

Barren are the trees

Before my eyes.

~*~

A year is ending,

A new year awaits,

I think of You, Jesus,

Behind Heavenly gates.

~*~

Surely all things

You will make new:

The fields, the flowers,

The barren trees too.

~*~

My life also

You renew with love,

While You prepare treasures

In Heaven above.

~*~

Rejoice, then, my heart,

When snowy blankets I see;

Long days of Sonshine

Are mine in eternity.

~*~

Dark days cannot sadden,

Nor cold bring sorrow,

For endless Son-filled days

Await tomorrow.

~*~

In the year ahead

May I be more like You;

Take my heart, my mind,

My entire life too.

~*~

Sweet renewal I find

When all to You I give;

So for You, my Jesus,

I choose to live.

~*~

In my heart

Melt the blankets of snow;

Allow the flame of love

In my heart to grow.

~*~

Plant flowers of virtue,

Trees of grace too;

Shine in my soul

With light pure and true.

~*~

And as snowflakes falling,

Make my soul white;

You make all things new

In Your perfect Sonlight.

More Like You, Jesus

 “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. “ Galatians 2:20

(Send as an Inspirational Christian eCard)

Lord Jesus, I pray

Make me more like You;

Inspire my thoughts,

Shape all I do.

Make my heart beat

One with Your will;

With Your Holy Spirit

My soul do fill.

On the highest mountain,

In the lowest valley,

Your radiant face

Always may I see.

Take my hands, Lord,

Your sacred work complete;

Upon Your pathway

Guide always my feet.

Take my lips,

Place on them Your song;

Take my heart too,

For with You I belong.

My eyes are Yours,

May they gleam with Your light;

May I see as You do,

Lord, take my sight.

My ears, they are Yours,

To hear only Your voice;

In the sound of Your call,

My spirit does rejoice.

My thoughts are Yours,

Jesus, fill my mind;

Make me to think on all

Good, pure and kind.

My spirit, Lord,

I give completely to You;

Do with me as You wish,

My spirit renew.

My life, my very life,

Is Yours to keep;

You are life itself

With sweet treasures deep.

Yea, Lord, take me,

Like You may I be;

I am Yours completely,

For all eternity.

Nothing for myself

Do I long anymore;

I live for You, my Jesus,

 It is You I adore.

And so I pray

Make me more like You;

You are the inspiration

For all I am and do.

Path of Life

“You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” Psalm 16:11

 (Send as an Inspirational Christian eCard!)

Lord, I call unto You,

Hear my humble prayer;

Lord, I search for You,

Make my way clear.

At times it seems

Dim is the path before me;

At times it seems

It is too difficult to see.

Yet in those moments

I feel Your hand reach;

The perfection of Your way

To me You teach.

“Daughter, I am here,

You need not worry or cry;

Daughter, have faith,

Look up, for it is I.”

“I am here with you,

I will show you the way;

Come here into My arms,

Listen to all I say.”

“The path of life

For you, My child, I pave;

I give everything I have

To love and to save.”

“So come nigh unto Me,

I promise to carry you;

Eternal pleasures I give

With joy rich and true.”

In saying these words,

Your eyes brilliantly shine;

Oh, how I feel peace

In Your presence divine.

Yes, Lord, I give all to You.

How can I give any less?

You give Your all to me,

Your Lordship I confess.

Take my hand, Master,

Lead me upon Your way;

I follow wherever You go,

Every moment, every day.

Should the tears stream,

Should I stumble and fall,

I will look up to You,

Your Name I will call.

Love bursts from my heart,

I praise You in adoration;

My life I live for You,

You are my celebration.

For You are my Light,

You make my way clear;

The path of life I know,

For You, my Jesus, are here.

Grace Abounds

Grace Abounds

“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:8

(Send as an Inspirational Christian eCard!)

When the world is in chaos,

When my heart trembles in fear,

When sadness and pain

Seem to abound everywhere,

It seems You have left us,

Yet I know this is not true;

Despite all we see,

In the midst there is You.

Though You are perfect,

Evil You never create,

You permit the free will

Of those whom You create.

In the view of eternity,

All things You work for good;

Help me, O Lord,

To cling to You as I should.

When hearts are breaking,

When tears do not cease,

To You, O Lord Jesus,

All our fears we release.

Surely You know suffering,

Your cross we need only see;

Surely You know agony,

We see it there on Calvary.

God and King of all,

Yet in our hearts You are;

When we are suffering,

Lord, never are You far.

Embrace us with comfort,

Wipe the tears from our eyes;

You are our only hope,

You are our sunrise.

In dying upon the Cross,

In being laid in the grave,

You gave Your life as ransom,

Our lives You do save.

If a bridge to Heaven

Is also the Cross You bore,

Help us to be patient,

Yea, help us to endure.

Surely each cross

You shall turn to a crown;

Why then, my heart,

Are you cast down?

My hope is in the Lord,

My life He shall renew;

Even when all is crumbling,

I know this to be true.

Jesus, O Jesus,

You are my life, my King;

Even in the trials

My heart can sing.

So when the world is in chaos,

When trouble is near,

I just look up to You, Jesus,

Your grace abounds everywhere.

More Than Life

Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.” Psalm 63:3

(Send as an Inspirational Christian eCard

More than life itself

Is how much I love You;

My love for You, my Lord,

Motivates all I do.

Every word I speak,

May it be for Your glory;

Every conversation,

May it tell Your story.

Every breath I take,

Every beat of my heart,

To the midnight,

From the morning start,

From the high mountain,

To the depths of the valley,

From the desert sands,

To the splashing sea,

May I glorify You, Jesus,

In all things, always;

Let me glorify You, Lord,

Today and all my days.

For what can be sweeter

Than to live life for You?

What can be grander

Than to walk Your way true?

When tears are falling,

When I laugh and smile,

May I give glory to You

In all things all the while.

This is my prayer, Lord,

Yea, this is my desire:

Make me entirely Yours,

Dwell within me as a fire.

Your will make my own,

Your steps make mine,

For I am but a branch,

You are the eternal Vine.

Should for but a moment

Of You I lose sight,

Pull me close to Your heart,

Guide me with Your light.

Pull me entirely

Into Your sweet grace;

Pull me completely

Into Your warm embrace.

For I am Yours always,

You are the Reason for all I do;

Yes, Jesus, more than life itself

Is how much I love You.
