Sitting in Sunshine

“He dawns on them like the morning light, like the sun shining forth on a cloudless morning, like rain that makes grass to sprout from the earth.” (2 Samuel 23:4)

Sitting in sunshine

I feel Your love

Embracing me sweetly

From Heaven above,

Touching me gently

With joy, with bliss,

Melting me happily

In Your sweet kiss,

Lifting me happily

To highest heights,

Opening my eyes

To loveliest sights…

Yes, I feel Your love

In sweet sunshine,

A taste of heaven,

Of courts divine,

So Your praise

I so joyfully sing,

Smiling gratefully

At bliss You bring,

Dancing so freely

With happiness pure,

Celebrating a love

To always endure,

Lifting me up

To heavenly heights,

Brightening even

Darkest of nights,

Raising me high

In joy endless,

Melting me happily

In Your sweet kiss…

Yes, sitting in Sonshine

Streaming from above,

Jesus, O Jesus,

Poem: Tender Mercies

Tender Mercies

“…because of the tender mercy of our God,

by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven

to shine on those living in darkness

and in the shadow of death,

to guide our feet into the path of peace.” (Luke 1:78-79)

Tender mercies are falling
Like soft kisses of dew,
Showers of grace are streaming
Through everything you do,

Oceans of love are flowing
From My heart to yours,
Sweet songs are springing from you
As your heart adores,

My joy is gleaming through you
As bright rays of light,
Happiness is beaming from you
Shining ev’n through night…

Yes, My child, I love you,
More than your heart can know,
Which is why these sweet gifts
To you forever flow.

So smile and dance,
Look up and radiantly rejoice,
Frolic through the wide green fields,
With music lift your voice,

And share with one and all
These gifts with you I share,
Tell to all you touch
Of My gifts beyond compare,

That they, too, may know
The heavenly light you see,
That they, too, may taste
The bliss of eternity,

That they may also smile
As My torrents of grace flow,
That they too may rejoice
In My love to know.

Feel My kiss now,
Upon your sweet forehead,
Feel so deep in your soul
The endless grace I shed,

Yes, feel My sunshine streaming
To you in all you do —
Amen, My precious child,
Bask in the love I have for you!

Poem: Above the Clouds

Above the Clouds

“He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the LORD and put their trust in him.” (Psalm 40:2-3)

When dark were the skies
Looming above me,
When troubled clouds
Were all I could see,

When the rain fell
Relentlessly around,
When barren before me
The once fertile ground,

When bitter tears fell
In endless streams,
When sleep was beset
With unhappy dreams,

I looked up to You
Your Name I did cry,
I called on my Lord,
My God the Most High.

And You outstretched lovingly
Your gentle hand,
You whispered so tenderly
The good You planned,

You held me close,
Drying each tear,
With lullabies of love
You allayed each fear,

You lifted me high
Above clouds once looming,
You pointed to me
Countless flowers blooming…

And so I now sing
Though the tears once fell,
As glorious is the story
Of my Jesus I tell.

Deep in my heart
He has restored sweet song,
While lifting me high
In His arms so strong…

O, yes, I have Jesus,
How can I ask for more?
Now high above the clouds
My heart does soar!

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.” (1 John 3:1)

Lavished in love

I am by You,

Yes, lavished in love,

Love so true,

From head to toe,

In all I hear and see,

Today, tomorrow,

Through all eternity,

In sunrays streaming

Through golden clouds above,

O Sweet Lord Jesus,

I am lavished in love…

You kiss my heart

With Your tender grace

You light my steps

With Your smiling face,

You inspire my heart

With psalms to sing,

You touch my life

With endless blessing.

So how can I feel

Anything but loved by You

In all that I am,

Through all that I do?

My heart bursts

Your love to receive,

How wondrous in You

To freely believe!

So I will sing

With eyes on You above,

With a heart of gladness

Bursting with love,

With all I am,

With all I will be,

Today, tomorrow,

Throughout eternity…

Yes, with love so pure,

Love so true…

Because lavished in love,

I am by You!

Poem: A Day Anew

My Gift to You: A Day Anew

“This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24)

Every day, My child,

Is a day anew,

This, little one,

Is My gift to you.

See the sun,

How it glistens in a new way?

Hear the refreshing songs

Of birds as they play?

Feel the breeze,

How it is different than before?

Do you not now feel

My love all the more?

Every day is new,

Every day has its glory,

Unfolding each moment

With My grace-filled story.

So embrace this day,

This gift divine,

As a miracle precious,

A blessing divine.

Let it inspire

Joy in your heart to beat,

Let it bring from your lips

Music sweet,

And let it be a time

You delight to love,

As you look with awe

At heaven above.

Yes, sweet child,

Every day is a day anew…

So come celebrate the gift

I have made for you!

“While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.” (Genesis 8:22)

Remember, My child,
When cold it may be,
In the winter of life
You are closest to me,

Yes, just as the sun
Hovers closest to earth
In the coldest season
Before spring rebirth,

So too I am with you
Indeed all the more
When the snow falls,
When cold rain does pour.

So do not grow weary,
Do not let tears fall,
For Your Jesus is here
Throughout it all.

I am kissing your days
With brightest sunshine
I am warming your heart
With pure love divine,

I am filling your soul
With peace deep and pure,
I am uplifting your spirit
With love to endure,

So embrace the storms,
The bitter cold days too,
For I promise, little one,
I am all the closer to you.

Yes, rejoice, My child,
When cold it may be,
For in the winter of life
You are closest to me!

My child, please savor
The beauty in everything:
The glory of morning,
The majesty of evening,

The warmth of summer,
The sparkles of snow,
The colors of the fall,
The spring blossoms to grow,

The smiles of children,
The wisdom of parents dear,
The laughter with loved ones
When they are near.

Yes, savor the beauty
Of everything I give,
As endless is the beauty
In life you live.

Perfect is the peace
When you travel My way,
Wonderful the wisdom
Of every word I say,

Bright is the joy,
Limitless the love,
Timeless the treasures
From Heaven above,

When to Me
You keep always near,
When in your heart
My truth rings clear,

When faithfully
My path you follow,
When wherever I lead
So too you go…

Yes, sweet child,
To My hand please cling,
As you will then savor
Beauty in everything!

To You, O Lord,
Endless thanks we give,
For Your limitless love,
For life to live,

For grace abounding,
For beauty in all things,
For the deep joy
Your divine love brings,

For smiling children,
For families so dear,
For seasonal celebrations
Drawing loved ones near.

Yes, Lord Jesus,
Thanksgiving we raise
With songs of love,
With hymns of praise.

Thankful each day
May we be,
With our eyes fixed
On eternity,

Holding You
To our hearts so dear,
Rejoicing how You
Are always near,

Smiling in radiance
Your presence brings,
Lifting our hearts
As on angel’s wings.

Yes, wonderful it is
This life to live…
So to You, Lord Jesus,

Beautiful is Your creation,
Yes, beauty You create,
Beautiful is Your creation,
Inspiring me to celebrate:

The leaves of the trees
Radiant in the Fall,
The glory of mountains
Stretching so tall,

The stillness of the lake,
A mirror divine,
The dance of the clouds
As they intertwine,

The songs of the birds
Flying high above,
The rays of the sun
Warming with love…

Yes, blissfully beautiful
Is the world I see,
Lord, I thank You
For all You give me.

In the beauty You make
How can I but see You?
Your creation reflects
Your love ever true.

Endless are blessings
I find are mine
By Your grace,
By Your love divine,

Surely in everything,
Both big and small,
You are the beauty
In the midst of it all,

Yes, beautiful is Your creation,
Beauty You create…

Nothing Can Stop Jesus’ Love

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39)

Nothing can stop

My love for you,

Dear little child,

Trust this is true:

No challenge, no mountain,

No hill too high,

No rain, no storm,

No cloud in the sky,

No angel, no demon,

No queen, no king,

No height, no depth,

No, truly nothing…

So why do allow

Your eyes to tear?

Why do you give in

To worry and fear?

Trust, little one,

Yes, trust in My love;

Keep your eyes fastened

On Heaven above,

Surely My grace

There you will see,

As you are a treasure

Forever to Me.

This is a promise

From Jesus, Your King:

My love abounds

Through everything,

It spans the distances,

Stretches across the sky,

Fills the oceans,

Climbs the mountain high…

So, My little one,

Trust this to be true:

Nothing can stop

My love for you!
