Fresh Start

Every morning,

Every day I live,

A new beginning,

A fresh start You give,

A clean slate,

A time to start anew,

A brighter horizon,

A lovelier view,

A sweeter song,

A lighter heart,

A happier vision,

Yes, a fresh start…

Every day,

Lord Jesus, my King,

A fresh start

To me You bring.

The woes and worries

Of the day before,

I can let go

In mercies You pour.

Each tear and trial,

Each problem and pain,

I let go to You

Again and again.

For You are new life,

You are joy and peace,

So into Your hands

Everything I release.

New beginnings,

Yes, a fresh start,

I find in Your love,

I see in Your heart.

A clean slate,

A time to start anew,

My sweet Lord Jesus,

I find in You.

Yes, every morning

A fresh start You give…

So every moment for You

I choose to live!

You Are All I Need

You are all I Need, Lord Jesus

“Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you.” (Psalm 73:25)

You are all I need, Lord,

Yes, all I need is You;

You are everything good,

You make all things new,

You are my portion,

My reward for eternity,

You are the song I hear,

The rainbow I see.

You are the smile

That beams in my eyes,

You are every joy,

Every precious surprise.

So all I ever need

Is You, my King,

As You are the Source

Of my everything.

No wish, no want,

No longing, no desire,

No craving, no prayer,

No heart’s burning fire…

Do You not satisfy –

Yes, all things You give;

You are the fire of love,

The breath to live.

So of You and for You

I sing this song,

In You and beside You

I do belong.

Yes, You are the smile

That beams in my eyes,

You are my joy,

My every surprise.

With You I will be

For all eternity,

As You are sweet love

In everything I see.

You are everything good,

You make all things new…

So You are all I need,

Yes, all I need is You!

“I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.” ~ Genesis 9:13

Your rainbow of love

Shines above me,

A kiss of Your grace,

A touch of eternity,

A window to Heaven,

A song of grace,

A sign of Your mercy,

A glimpse of Your face,

A colorful gift,

A promise to endure,

A covenant holy,

A love ever pure…

Yes, Your rainbow of love

Above me does shine

With Your colors of grace

Delightful and divine.

So I will sing

In sun and in rain,

I will rejoice

In comfort and pain,

I will smile

No matter what You bring,

Yes, in all things

For You I will sing.

From the pain

You bring a joyful song,

Rooted in Your love

So wide, deep and long.

From the tears

You inspire smiles bright,

The depth of darkness

You melt with Your light.

The stormy days

With love You kiss,

Donning them with a rainbow

Of love and bliss.

Yes, Your colorful rainbow

Is Your promise to endure,

Your covenant holy,

Your love ever pure.

It leads me to Heaven,

Kisses me with grace,

Shows me Your mercy,

The light of Your face.

O, Your rainbow of love

Shines above me…

So, Jesus, I am yours

For all eternity!

Make My Spirit Fly

“…but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)

When my heart is heavy,

When tears brim in my eye,

When I long like a bird

To escape and to fly,

When the way is dim,

When I am weak and weary,

When all about seems

So dark and dreary,

I see a glimmer

Of Your love-filled light,

Like the dawn of day

You shine through my night…

And my heart cannot help

But feel a surge of peace,

As into Your hands

All I am I release.

Every worry, every woe,

Every trial, every tear,

Every pain, every problem,

Every fight, every fear –

All I release

To You, Jesus, my King,

And I embrace the goodness

Your loving hands bring.

You pave my path

With bright light You shine,

You kiss away tears

With Your love divine,

You instill a song

Ever beautiful, ever new;

Yes, lovely is all You are,

All You say, all You do.

You make strong my bones

Once weak and weary,

You make bright the valleys

Once dark and dreary.

Yes, You restore the sparkle,

The pure joy in my eye…

Jesus, You are my light,

You make my spirit fly!

“For thus the LORD has told me, ‘I will look from My dwelling place quietly Like dazzling heat in the sunshine, Like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.’” ~ Isaiah 18:4

Cold it may be,

The winds may blow,

Yet wonderful the warmth

My heart does know,

Gray the skies,

Dark the clouds above,

Yet bright is the light

Of Your sweet love,

Wintry storms

May rage around me,

Yet calm I am

In arms of infinity…

Yes, cold it may be

In the world outside,

Yet warm I am

As in You I abide.

You, Lord Jesus,

Make summer the winter day

By the love You shine

On my pathway.

Your smile brightens

The dark winter sky,

Your song inspires

The birds to soar high,

Your love melts

The ice and the snow,

Your grace shows

The way I must go.

So I lift this song

To You, my King,

Yes, in every season

For You I sing.

I rejoice in the love

You endlessly shower,

In Your heartwarming graces,

In Your infinite power.

Though wintry storms

May rage around me,

Calm I am

In Your arms of infinity,

Though gray be the skies,

Dark the clouds above,

Bright is the light

Of Your sweet love…

Yes, cold it may be,

Poem: Always Sunshine

Always Sunshine

“He dawns on them like the morning light, like the sun shining forth on a cloudless morning, like rain that makes grass to sprout from the earth.” (2 Samuel 23:4)

Whether the snow falls

Or the sun does shine,

I feel in my heart

A song divine,

A presence peaceful,

A joy everlasting,

A happiness heavenly,

A treasured blessing,

A bliss beautiful,

A hope to endure,

A faith forever,

A love ever pure,

Yes, no matter the weather,

No matter what may be,

I feel heavenly happy

As Jesus is with me.

So come what may,

Snow, sun or rain,

Come what may,

Joy, laughter or pain,

I will sing,

Yes, I will sing with my all,

Rejoicing in music

Of my Savior’s call.

I will live for Him,

For His Kingdom and glory,

Yes, I will live for Him

And for His~story.

For Jesus gives to me

A hope to endure,

A faith forever,

A love ever pure,

A presence peaceful,

A joy everlasting,

A happiness heavenly,

A treasured blessing…

Yes, He gives me

A song divine,

So no matter the weather

It is always Sunshine!

Poem: Smiling Snowflakes

Smiling Snowflakes

“His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow…” Matthew 28:3

Snowflakes falling,

Brilliant and bright,

Clothing the earth

In radiant white,

Dancing blithely

In cold winter air,

Each with a song

To happily share,

Gliding gracefully,

Landing on the ground,

Such that white blankets

Everywhere abound…

And in the snowflakes,

As they fall ‘round me,

I see a promise of life,

A kiss of eternity.

For Jesus, my Jesus,

Speaks to me in the snow,

Whispering of wonders

I have yet to know:

In the cold of life

There is beauty too,

All things in due time

God does renew.

Yes, this season of snow

Will give way to spring;

In the winters of life

We find sweet blessing.

So let us remember

As snowflakes are falling

That our Lord Jesus

Is still to us calling.

His graces to us

Everywhere abound,

No less now than when

Salvation we found.

His love with us

Forever He does share,

Sweet is His love,

Rich beyond compare.

Yes, in snowflakes falling,

Brilliant and bright,

We feel the love of Jesus,

We see His eternal light!

“Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works!” (Psalm 105:2)

You ask me, my friend,

The source of my song…

How can I sing

All the day long?

How can my eyes

Sparkle so bright?

How come like day

Shines every night?

How can my joy

Be constant and true?

How can this happiness

Each day renew?

The answer, dear friend,

Is one very clear:

Happy I am

Because Jesus is near.

He is the sun

Of my night and day,

He is the light

On my pathway.

He is the song

In my heart playing,

He is the inspiration

For all I am saying.

He is the joy

Pure and complete,

Making each day

Beautifully sweet.

So, my friend,

I ask you now,

Into your heart

Our Jesus allow.

Let Him also

In your life reign,

For then good things

You will gain.

You will find joy

Both constant and true;

You feel happiness

Each day to renew.

Surely your eyes

Will sparkle so bright;

Like the noonday

Will shine your night.

Yes, you and I

Will sing all day long,

As Our Lord Jesus

Is the Source of our song!

Closer to You

Closer to You, Lord

“The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.” Psalm 145:18

Closer to You, Lord,

This I now pray,

May I be every moment

Of each passing day.

Your sweet voice I hear,

Your radiance I see,

Your presence I feel

In and around me.

So deep is Your love,

So warm Your embrace,

So beautiful Your blessings,

So glorious Your grace,

Precious Your path,

Wonderful Your way,

Timeless Your treasures,

Every Word You say.

So take my hand,

Bring me closer to You;

Allow me to walk

Your path precious and true.

And like You, my Jesus,

May I be ever more;

I desire to be

Like the One I adore.

Through my eyes

Let Your eternal light shine;

Through my lips

Speak Your words divine.

Upon Your pathway

Guide always my feet;

Your love let sing

In my every heart beat.

Closer to You,

For this, Lord, I do long;

Take me in Your arms

Eternal and strong.

My soul is Yours,

With it Your Spirit fill;

I live to bring You glory,

To do Your perfect will.

Closer to You, Lord,

What sweeter thing could be?

May I be closer now

And for all eternity.

Yea, stay nigh unto me

Dance with Joy

“The young women will dance for joy,
and the men—old and young—will join in the celebration.
I will turn their mourning into joy.
I will comfort them and exchange their sorrow for rejoicing.” ~ Jeremiah 31:13

Snowflakes falling,

Countless before me,

Dancing in the winds,

Cloaking every tree,

Covering the fields,

Making the world white,

Surely it is a gift

To behold the wintry sight.

Only God Himself

Could create such a dance;

Countless snowflakes

Could not arise by chance.

With love and with beauty

He creates one and all;

Yes, God has ordained

Each snowflake to fall.

See with what love

He has sculpted each flake;

Behold the beauty

Of crystals He does make.

Surely if such love

He gives to flakes of snow,

Greater love to His children

The Lord does show.

Fearfully and wonderfully

He has made each one,

And all His children enjoy

Grace from the Son.

So like the dancing flakes,

May we choose to celebrate:

Let us sing for joy

In all God does create.

Yes, let us praise Jesus,

Let us cloak ourselves in white,

Let us fix our eyes on Heaven,

For the Son is our Light.

And like snowflakes falling,

Countless for us to see,

Let us dance with joy

For all God made us to be.
