Rainbow of Love

“I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.” ~ Genesis 9:13

Your rainbow of love

Shines above me,

A kiss of Your grace,

A touch of eternity,

A window to Heaven,

A song of grace,

A sign of Your mercy,

A glimpse of Your face,

A colorful gift,

A promise to endure,

A covenant holy,

A love ever pure…

Yes, Your rainbow of love

Above me does shine

With Your colors of grace

Delightful and divine.

So I will sing

In sun and in rain,

I will rejoice

In comfort and pain,

I will smile

No matter what You bring,

Yes, in all things

For You I will sing.

From the pain

You bring a joyful song,

Rooted in Your love

So wide, deep and long.

From the tears

You inspire smiles bright,

The depth of darkness

You melt with Your light.

The stormy days

With love You kiss,

Donning them with a rainbow

Of love and bliss.

Yes, Your colorful rainbow

Is Your promise to endure,

Your covenant holy,

Your love ever pure.

It leads me to Heaven,

Kisses me with grace,

Shows me Your mercy,

The light of Your face.

O, Your rainbow of love

Shines above me…

So, Jesus, I am yours

For all eternity!

Rainbows have always been a very special and personal sign between God and me! I have so many things with rainbows on them in my home that people have given me. When I had just met Alex 32 years ago and was traveling with friends and asking God if we should date since he lived 900 miles away, I looked up on a perfectly sunny day and there stretched before me was a rainbow. I had my answer!

I love rainbows. I think of God’s love and His covenant with the world that He would never pass judgment on us in that way again. I also remember that His offer to take refuge in Jesus is available to all just as it was in the day of Noah. When i see a rainbow i expect Something good to happen.
