“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” (John 10:27)

Lord, help me to hear You,

When dim is the way,

Help to me to discern

The words that You say,

Enrich me with wisdom,

Show me what to do,

Guide me in ways

To always honor You,

Teach me Your statutes,

Align me with Your will,

Make me to long

All the more for You still.

Yes, Lord, help me

Your voice to hear,

Ring Your wisdom

In my heart ever clear,

Let the beauty of Your way

Grace all that I see,

Let my eyes be fixed

On sweet eternity,

Let my soul rejoice

In being forever Yours,

Let my spirit bask

In Your love that pours.

So much I love You,

Let my love be greater still,

As I delight in Your way,

As I rejoice in Your will,

Lord, I smile to live

My every day for You,

I offer all I am,

All I say, all I do…

Yes, help to me to discern

The words You say…

Because, Jesus, I live for You

Today and every day!

His Love Smiles (in Sunrays)

His Love Smiles

“But unto you that fear My name shall the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings; and ye shall go forth and grow up as calves from the stall.” (Malachi 4:2)

My love for you, child,

Do you now see?

It is dancing for you

In leaves of the tree,

It is smiling for you

In rays of the sun,

It is delighting with you

In moments of fun,

It is calling to you

In the bird’s song,

It is embracing you

In fields stretching long…

Yes, my love

Is all around you,

Kissing the moments

Through all that you do,

Touching your soul,

Inspiring your mind,

Moving your heart

To be loving and kind.

So, little one,

Take My gentle hand,

Embrace all I give,

All I have planned,

For surely I give

Only what is love,

I share with you

Treasures from above.

My love for you

Is deep and long,

Sweeter than the sweetest

Songbird’s song,

Happier than happiest

Moments of fun,

Brighter than brightest

Rays of the sun…

Yes, My child,

My love do you see?

It beats for you

For all eternity!

Graces to Savor

“Taste and see that the Lord is good;
blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.” (Psalm 34:8)

My little child,

Come now to hear

The sound of the ocean

Splashing so clear,

The sound of the breeze

Dancing through trees,

The sounds of gulls

Over the seas,

The sounds of children

Happy at play,

The sounds of birds

On a beautiful day…

Yes, little child,

Come now to see

My blessings of bliss,

My graces of beauty,

For these are the things

Which make life sweet:

The feeling of sand

Beneath your feet,

The peaceful lake,

The mountain high,

The verdant grass,

The brilliant sky,

The smile of a baby,

The song of a child,

The rhythm of the ocean,

Melodic and mild.

Yes, little child,

These gifts do savor,

Embrace my blessings,

Embrace my favor,

As I am the Giver

Of all good things,

Inspiring your spirit

To fly on wings,

To lift you high

When you are down,

To transform to smiles

Your every frown.

So as a child

Ever happy at play,

Embrace My gifts

On your purposeful way,

Smile joyfully

At the dance of trees,

Sing with the gulls

Of the happy seas,

Yes, clap with the waves

Splashing so clear…

And rejoice to know

I Am always near!

In Loving Memory of My Grandmother

In Loving Memory of My Grandmother

“She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: ‘Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.’ Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” (Proverbs 31:25-30)

Who is Nana?

You ask this of me;

She is the beauty

Of many a memory,

She is the smile

Brightening the day,

She is the wisdom

Lighting the way.

She is the warmth

Making a home sweet,

She is the embrace

When her I greet,

She is a wife,

A daughter, a mother,

An example of one

Loving one another.

She is my grandmother,

She is my friend,

She is rich with generosity,

Of love without end,

She is God’s beloved,

She is His sweet child,

She reflects His virtues,

Bold yet mild.

She is in Jesus’ arms,

Resting with delight,

Heaven and its glory

Are now in her sight,

With Papa she plays,

With the angels she sings

In joy and adoration

To our King of kings…

So who is Nana?

She is the source of this song,

The reason our hearts

Beat with love strong.

Yes, though she has departed,

From me she will never part —

For my Nana is with Jesus,

My Nana is in my heart.

May you rest eternally in Jesus’ loving arms, Nana! We love you!

“When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You.” (Psalm 56:3)

When I am afraid,

I will trust in You,

Sweet Lord Jesus,

I promise to.

On whom else can I call?

To whom else can I cling

Who else to me

Gives everything?

Who else will wipe

The tears from my eyes?

Who else will dry

The rain in the skies?

Yes, when I am afraid,

I will trust in Your name,

For with You, my Lord,

Nothing is the same.

The gray days grow

Luminously bright,

The sunshine glows

Through dark of night,

The joyful songs spring

From depths of sorrows,

Mournful yesterdays

Become blissful tomorrows,

Endless valleys

Become tops of the mount,

The parched desert

Becomes the flowing fount…

So here and now

When the tears do fall,

Your Name, Sweet Jesus,

I do call.

Surely You wipe

The tears from my eyes,

Your kisses fall

As rain from the skies,

And to Your hand

I joyfully cling,

As surely to me

You give everything…

Yes, when I am afraid,

I know what to do:

Sweet Lord Jesus,

I will trust in You!

“But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you…” (Matthew 5:44)

Child, why do

Tears brim in your eye?

Tell Me why

In your heart you sigh?

Why do you let

These pains ever sting?

Why do you not

Give Me everything?

Look up, little one,

Look up now at Me,

For then how to love

You will clearly see.

When you are injured,

Choose then to love,

When you are hurt,

Set your eyes above,

When you are betrayed,

Love all the more,

When you are maligned,

Let your love pour,

When you are angry,

Let love be your release,

When you are upset,

Let love be your peace.

Yes, precious child,

Love to you I teach,

All the riches of My love

Are within your reach.

I promise to share

All that is Mine,

To love as I love

Is delightful and divine.

So let your heart

Be happy and light,

Let My love

Shine into your night,

Let Me shower

My riches of gold,

Let Me share with you

My secrets untold,

Let Me transform

Your winter into spring,

Let Me give you

My endless blessing…

Yes, let Me turn

To blue your gray sky…

Let love, love, love

Shine forever in your eye!

“Again Jesus spoke to them, saying,
‘I am the light of the world.
Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness,
but will have the light of life.'” (John 8:12)

When dark and gray

Are the clouds above me,

When tossed are the branches

Of the tree,

When deeply quiet

Is the bird’s song,

When the wind blows

Fierce and strong,

When rain falls

Upon the ground,

When dampness and cold

Seem to abound,

I cry out for You,

Your Name I call,

Asking You to save me

From it all,

To lift me high

In Your arms,

Where Your embrace

Wonderfully warms,

To dry my tears,

To kiss away the rain,

To wash away my hurt,

To erase my pain,

To sing of Heaven,

To smile with Your love,

To remind me of treasures

Waiting high above…

And suddenly sunshine

Seems to abound,

For eternal light

In Your eyes I’ve found,

Your Voice, my Jesus,

Is the sweetest song,

In Your arms

I forever belong,

Yes, when dark and gray

Are the clouds above me,

I rejoice in the Sunshine

You are to me!

Bunt or Swing for the Fence?

Guest Post by Heart and Soul Health Coach Mike Fenton

The pitcher winds-up, the pitch, oh it’s a beauty right down the center of the plate! You think to yourself, this could be a souvenir for someone standing out in the parking lot, but wait, the coach said to lay a bunt down the third baseline. The temptation is there to do what you think is right, however the coach was very specific in what he wanted you to do. Sound familiar? We are constantly being tempted to do what we want and feel is right, while ignoring what is being asked of us. God is very specific in what he wants us to do and very specific in telling us what he does not want us to do. So why do we feel that we know better and don’t live our lives as we are asked to?

Do we feel we know more than God the creator of everything we know and see? Or is it the devil luring us to do what he wants, instead of us following God’s word? Remember the devils conversation with Eve in The Garden of Eden, how he told her that the tree of knowledge was a good tree of fruit and if she ate of it she would become all knowing, like God? How did that work out?

While not following what we have been told may get us a homerun, and it may feel good while running the bases, when we reach the dugout the coach is not going to be happy with us. The same holds true in the words God has spoken to us. The Bible tells us in 1 Peter 1:14 (14) “As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance”. Ignorance is thinking we know better, we do not, and we are fooling ourselves to believe otherwise.

There is only one true coach, our God Almighty, he expects us to live our life according to His word. We must be strong enough in spirit and faith so that we no longer listen to the devils lies telling us to “go ahead do what we want, live how we want, we are the only ones that know what’s best for us”. Those words come from another coach, and he plays for the wrong side!

May Reflection – I am waiting on the direction of my Lord, Jesus Christ. He will guide me all the days of my life.

Comfort of Christ Poem

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)

When challenges encounter,

When trials beset me,

When obstacles and mountains

Are all that I see,

When my heart aches,

When tears brim in my eye,

When I long to escape,

To be free and to fly,

I look up to You,

Your Name I call,

I ask You to lift me

When I stumble and fall…

You smile at me,

You reach out Your hand,

You remind me lovingly

Only good You planned,

You show me the horizon

So beautiful and bright,

You kiss my pathway

With Your sweet sunlight,

You whisper of heaven,

Of treasures in store,

You show I have everything,

Indeed even more.

Yes, You dry my tears,

You kiss away each one

With soft sparkling rays

Of the shining sun.

So I need not worry

When I stumble and fall,

As You are here with me

Always through it all,

You bring joy to my heart,

A sparkle to my eye,

You set my soul free

To soar and to fly…

Yes, beautiful bliss

Is now the vista I see,

As You, my sweet Jesus,

Are here with me!

“The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” (John 3:8)

Winds dance

Through young leaves of spring,

Whispering of changes

My Creator does bring,

Singing of renewal,

Of things made new,

Of dark winter skies

Colored brilliantly blue,

Of pain and loss

Becoming fertile ground

For every sweet grace

My soul has found.

Yes, the winds dance

Through leaves of green,

Whispering of changes

Now yet unseen…

And so my heart

Smiles in this dance,

Singing of Jesus

Each and ev’ry chance,

For He is my Maker,

One renewing all,

He is Creator of seasons,

Of spring and fall,

He is the sunshine

Brightening the skies,

He is the hope

Wiping tears from my eyes.

So with dancing winds

Which now abound,

I sing of every grace

My soul has found,

I sing of renewal,

Of things made new,

Of dark winter skies

Colored brilliantly blue…

Yes, as winds dance

Through young leaves of spring,

I rejoice in the changes

My Jesus does bring!
