Child, so very precious

You are to Me;

Open your heart now,

Let your eyes see.

For I will show

How much you are worth;

I will display the value

Of your precious birth.

Do you see

The mountains stretching high?

Do you see

The many birds as they fly?

Far more than all these

You are worth to Me,

Far more than every stream,

Every ocean, every sea.

Do you see

Countless leaves on the trees?

Do you hear the music

In the sound of the breeze?

Do you see the flowers

Bloom in colors bright?

Do you feel the sun

Warming you with its light?

More precious are you,

Your soul is a treasure;

For this reason, My child,

I love you with no measure.

Do you see the sparkle

Of pure silver and of gold?

Do you see the glow

Of stars from days of old?

More than precious metals,

Than all the stars in the sky,

Is your worth to Me,

Your God, the Most High.

Do you see the Cross

There on the hill of Calvary?

Do you see Me bleed for you

There upon the tree?

I sweat drops of blood,

A heavy Cross I bore,

Nails pierced Me through,

A thorny crown I wore:

So precious you are to Me,

All this I chose to do;

Do you now sense

How much I treasure you?

Let Me hold you close,

Let Me keep you in my heart;

I will treasure you always,

As I have from the start.

For, child, so very precious

You are to Me;

Embrace My love for you

Now and for all eternity.
