Christmas
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6
Rejoice, rejoice,
Christmas is here;
Rejoice, rejoice,
Our Savior’s birth is near.
Come one, come all,
For Him let us prepare;
With all whom we meet
Good tidings let us share:
The Wonderful Counselor,
The Father Everlasting,
The Prince of Peace,
The King of every king –
Upon His shoulders
The government He will bear;
He will heal diseases,
Wipe away every tear.
Let us go to Bethlehem,
Let us our Savior greet,
Let us bring gifts to Him,
Let us sing hymns sweet.
For do you not feel
How His love draws you?
Do you not long deeply
To be near to Him too?
We will follow His star
Despite any danger;
We will travel the hills
To find His manger.
Behold His brilliance,
Behold His shining love,
Surely He is the Gift
Of God Almighty above.
Kneeling before Him now,
We give Him praise;
We adore You, O Jesus,
To You our hearts we raise.
Mere sinners we are,
Heal us with Your light;
Guide us on our pathways,
Shine into our night.
O Wonderful Counselor,
Father Everlasting,
Prince of Peace,
King of every king –
We embrace joyfully
Love and light You share;
Your gifts are immeasurable,
Gifts without compare.
O, Christmas is here,
What have we to fear?
We rejoice, we rejoice,
For to us Jesus is near.
