“Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.” Psalm 107:1

The aroma of apple pie

Wafts in the air,

Sounds of stories

Around the table to share,

Praise and prayer,

Laughter and song:

Here with my family,

Here I belong.

Thanks be to our God

For all He does give,

Thanks be to our God

For this life we live.

How blessed we are

To gather here each year,

To create memories

With those we hold dear.

How precious it is

To be with one another:

Mother and father,

Sister and brother.

Throughout the festivity,

The turkey and pie,

Our hearts are raised

To God, the Most High.

Yet when the day ends,

When we must part,

Surely Thanksgiving

Still lives in the heart.

Give thanks we shall

Each and every day;

Let us glorify God

In all we do and say.

Thanksgiving is not a day

But a state of mind;

Let us live gratefully,

Being humble and kind.

Thankful for Jesus Christ

Above all let us be:

 His death on the Cross

Gave us life eternally.

So Thanksgiving Day

And indeed forevermore

Let us sing praises

To the One we adore.

With praise and prayer,

Laughter and song,

We rejoice in Jesus,

For with Him we belong.

And as aroma of apple pie

Wafts in the air,

We savor Christ’s love,

Sweet beyond compare.

“…neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:39

 (Send as an Inspirational Christian eCard)

No matter what, I am with you,

No matter what, I am here;

No matter what happens, child,

Your Savior is near.

Should the mountains tumble,

Should the sea run dry,

Should the sun stop shining,

Should the birds no longer fly,

Should any of these happen,

I am still close to you;

No matter what happens,

Trust this to be true.

From My love, My child,

You can never flee;

For everything around you

Is sustained by Me.

So when the storms come,

When plans go awry,

When your heart is weary,

When you begin to cry,

I am still with you

Through all of these things;

I am here to help you,

Your King of kings.

As this is so,

Why, child, do you fear?

Remember I am with you,

Your Jesus is near.

I will hold your hand,

I will lift you when you fall,

I will answer lovingly

When I hear you call.

Do not worry one moment,

Cast your cares upon Me;

Let me carry you in My arms

On the path to eternity.

No matter what happens

I am still close to you;

Rejoice in My presence,

In My love eternal and true.

Should the mountains tumble,

Should the sea run dry,

Should the sun stop shining,

Should the birds no longer fly,

No matter what, I am with you,

No matter what, I am here;

No matter what happens, child,

Your Jesus is near.

Revelation 22:20

 (Send as an Inspirational Christian eCard)

Upward to the skies

I lift my head,

For I know my Lord Jesus

Rose from the dead.

He ascended

In clouds of the sky

To unite with His Father,

The Eternal Most High.

So too upon the clouds

He will return again;

With eager expectation

I wait until then.

Come, Lord Jesus,

Come to Your children here;

Reign upon the earth,

To our souls be near.

Come, Lord Jesus,

How we long for You;

You are the Source of love,

Of all good and true.

Come, Lord Jesus,

With might and glory;

Surely heaven and earth

Proclaim Your story:

You humbled Yourself

To become a man;

You suffered the Cross,

Embraced the Father’s plan.

Blood You shed

To cleanse us from sin;

In Your wounds, O Lord,

Eternal life does begin.

Born again in You,

Not of this world we are;

So upward we look

To You, O Morning Star.

As lightning flashes

East to west in the sky,

So too You will come,

Lord Jesus, Most High.

Come, Lord Jesus,

Reign upon the earth now;

Our devotion to You,

Lord Jesus, we vow.

And as an eternal flame

In our hearts You burn,

So come, Lord Jesus,

We long for Your return.

“Waterfall” by Nicholas Tarling

“My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

Psalm 139:15-16

 (Send as an Inspirational Christian eCard)

My daughter, I love you,

May you feel this in your heart;

My child, I adore you,

As I have from the start.

Before the foundation of earth,

Before the filling of the sea,

Before the setting of the sky,

You were loved by Me.

Before the stars shone above,

Before the sun lit the sky,

Before the moon glowed,

You sparkled in My eye.

Yes, I saw you before these,

Before all of creation;

I saw the day of your birth,

A day of celebration.

Since I love you so,

How can you ever fear?

Will not the One who made you

Always be there?

I shed My blood for you,

What will I then restrain?

To win your love and life

I withdrew not from the pain.

Nothing is too much, child,

To show My love for you;

To die upon the Cross

For you I chose to do.

I ask you now, daughter,

To embrace the love I give;

Open your heart to Me,

Let Me ignite the life you live.

Let Me fill you with love,

Let Me kiss you with grace,

Let Me hold your hand,

Let Me shine upon your face.

Rejoice in the truth

That your God loves you so;

His love for you on the Cross

Does radiantly show.

Before the foundation of earth,

Before the filling of the sea,

Rejoice to know, my daughter,

You were loved by Me.

Yes, daughter, I love you,

May you feel this in your heart;

Stay close to Me, My child,

We will never part.

Focus

Tip for Today: Focus

One of the key challenges to success is not the lack of motivation but rather the abundance of distraction. As much as we may think distractions are external, we can control our vulnerability to them. Each morning, before setting out on assignments, define the most important tasks of the day. Determine to accomplish these tasks no matter what. Eliminate clutter in your workspace, turn off phone ringers (if possible) during focused work time and close out the email tab. Focusing energy creates phenomenal results. When we are clear about our goals and focused on achieving them, we bear incredible fruit by God’s grace.

Scripture Verse: “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.” Ecclesiastes 9:10

Action Step: What can you do today to increase your ability to focus on the important tasks at hand?

“River Rapid” by Evgeni Dinev

“However, as it is written: ‘What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived’— the things God has prepared for those who love him…”

1 Corinthians 2:9

 (Send as an Inspirational Christian eCard)

Treasures I have for you, My child,

Come now and listen to Me;

I shall share about your home,

Your place in eternity.

No eye has seen, no ear has heard,

No human mind has conceived

Things God has prepared for those

Who love Him and have believed.

Do you see the sun shining above?

Lovelier is the heavenly light,

For I am the Sun in heaven –

There is only day, no more night.

Do you smell the flowers

Wonderfully fragrant in their bloom?

Yet sweeter is the aroma of heaven

Ever your heart to consume.

Do you feel the summer rain

Kissing gently your skin?

Yet more refreshing is My Water,

Washing you of all your sin.

Do you hear your children’s laughter,

Do you hear them sing?

Yet lovelier is the sound of heaven,

Of angels rejoicing in their King.

Do you taste the fruit of harvest,

How sweet to enjoy its yield?

Yet far sweeter to taste heaven,

The fruit of the Elysium field.

Though your eyes cannot see it,

Though your ears cannot hear,

Know that heaven will be yours,

Indeed your home is near.

Should this dwelling on earth

Bring trouble and grief to you,

Remember heaven is your home;

This is your citizenship true.

Rejoice with Me, My child,

Feel the depth of My love;

I shed My blood for you

That you may join Me above.

Nothing can separate us,

I am yours, you are Mine;

Celebrate with Me, My child,

This union intimate and divine.

For treasures I have for you,

Come now and stay with Me;

I will lead you to your home,

Your place in eternity.

Motivational Minute: Work for the Lord

Christian Life Coaching Life Tip Work for the Lord by Caroline Gavin of Purposeful Pathway Christian Life Coaching

Welcome to the second Purposeful Pathway Motivational Minute post! I will share these nuggets to help bring more joy, passion, purpose and prosperity to your pathway. I will continue to share poetic posts too.

“White Flower” by Graeme Weatherston

Tip for Today: Work for the Lord

Often in the day-to-day activities we lose focus of the Lord. Yet Proverbs 16:3 reminds us to “commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.” Our work is more fruitful and satisfying when we commit our every step to Him. Vulnerable as we are to distractions, it is helpful to set up systems to remind ourselves of our eternal focus.

Perhaps you can paste a Scripture verse on the wall of your workplace; perhaps you can set your timer for several periods of refreshment with God throughout the day; perhaps you can find a colleague who commits to praying periodically with you. Experience a heightened joy and a deeper peace as you work more closely with the Lord and more passionately for His purpose.

Scripture Verse: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men…” Colossians 3:23

Action Step: What system or systems can you establish to remind you frequently of the eternal purpose of your work?
