September 11th Prayer: We Remember

On this solemn day,

On the eleventh of September,

Your memory we honor,

Your love we remember.

We long to embrace you,

We long to feel you near,

Yet the presence of your spirit

We know is always here.

May the tears we shed

Show our love for you,

May the prayers we lift

Bless your heart too.

Never will we forget you,

Never will we let go;

You are in our hearts,

This truth always know.

May our Lord and God

Protect you where you are;

We long to see you shining

In Heaven as a star.

One day we will meet,

This we trust to be true;

We will delight in the day

We will again see you.

Hear our prayers today,

We lift them continually;

For you are in our hearts,

Alive in our memory.

Your memory we honor,

Your love we remember,

On this solemn day,

This eleventh of September.

It’s a beautiful poem. I pray that everyone who died that day was saved and is now spiritually present with the Lord. I pray for those who are left behind to celebrate LIFE and forgive our enemies.
