Purposeful Pathway is a haven for faith-based entrepreneurs. Part of my mission as a Christian Business Coach is equipping heart-centered businesses with information that is practical, actionable and Scriptural.

The topic of this biz tip is reaping the rewards of research.

Once you have created crystal clear goals, your next step is to undertake your goals with understanding. This step involves performing the research to determine the strategies, techniques, skills, activities, processes and relationships that will allow you to reach your goals. Clarifying your goals and believing in God’s power to allow you to achieve your goals are both pivotal parts of the purposeful pathway. Yet targeted action must compliment the clarity.

Notice: this step is not about any action but rather targeted action. This step involves action that is laser-focused on your God-centered goals. Research thoroughly, therefore, how to achieve your goals such that your actions will be fully aligned with goal fulfillment.

As an example, a writer seeks to sell books. Although she writes very well, she will not get very far at all without researching the publishing and marketing process. In like manner, therefore, review your written goals and thoroughly research the skills you will need, the people you will need and the processes you will need to reach them.

This step in and of itself allows you to achieve more, as understanding your undertaking streamlines your activities to those specific to reaching your goals; this in turn yields a deeper joy, as the goals once in your mind and now on paper grow more and more feasible, more and more tangible, more and more real.

Scripture reminds us to “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)  Ultimately, as you trust fully in Him, God Himself will lead you and endow you with divine understanding. Devote your goals, your every step, to His glory. Doing so will allow you to bear fragrant fruit and experience divine joy.

Purposeful Pathway Biz Assignment:

For each of the areas of life – spiritual, emotional, mental, vocational, financial, physical and relational – journal about the following:

  1. What processes do I need to reach goals in this area of life?
  2. With whom do I need to connect to reach goals in this area of life?
  3. What skills must I learn to reach goals in this area of life?
  4. What processes must I put in place to reach goals in this area of life?
  5. What tools do I need to reach goals in this area of life?
  6. What systems must I create to reach goals in this area of life?

    Caroline,

I have done a tremedous amount of research for my book “The Bible in 7 Pieces”. I’ve learned a lot, but it’s been challenging not to get overwhelmed with too many details (information overload).

    Have a Victorious Day!
