Father Really Does Know Best

God the Father Knows Best

Genesis 1:1

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

As a Biblical health coach, I am fascinated by how God’s principles of health and wholeness are daily being recognized and proven scientifically.  John G. Lake, a missionary, faith healer and mighty man of God has said, “science is God’s way of doing things,” and I wholeheartedly agree!  While some say science supersedes God’s Word, I respectfully disagree.  I’ve actually heard people say, ‘You can’t take what God says literally because He wasn’t a scientist!’  Science is the natural progression, the outgrowth of understanding the “how” behind the “what” of God’s Word.  Only now do we have sophisticated enough equipment to reveal and understand these magnificent mysteries.  Our God is most definitely a God of order.  He sets principles and laws in motion concerning not just our spirits, souls and bodies, but our physical world as well.  He is concerned with wholeness, the root meaning of the Hebrew word, shalom, in every area of our lives.

As I read about medical research and studies, it continually brings scriptures to light, and I am constantly amazed by how practical and relevant His Word truly is.  Consider:

How Deuteronomy 31:19 related to probiotics;

How laughter really is “medicine” (Proverbs 17:22);

How speaking the truth in love (Ephesians 4:11) extends life;

How negative emotions can rot the bones (Isaiah 58:11) and positive emotions can heal them (Proverbs 16:24);

How Abel’s blood (Genesis 4:10) could literally cry out to God and SO much more.

Who could possibly know better the intricacies of how our bodies are supposed to function, then the Creator of those bodies Himself?  I invite you to join me in an eye-opening, faith-building journey studying scripture and science side-by-side.  I guarantee we will see the unmistakable imprint of God’s wisdom, power and love as we, too, say – “Father really does know best!”

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Jeremiah 29:11

“I know the plans I have for you,

I know the things in store;

Remember that I love you,

My child whom I adore.”

“You need not ever worry,

You need not ever fear;

Remember I am with You,

Lo, I am always near.”

“Look onto the horizon,

See the sun shining bright?

Child, I walk with you,

I beautify all in My Light.”

“Take My hand, daughter,

In faith walk close to Me;

You shall see the good I plan

Now and for all eternity.”

In saying these words,

Jesus smiles and takes my hand;

How I look forward to seeing

All my Lord has planned!

Yea, Lord, I shall follow You,

Never to fret nor fear;

What have I to worry

When You are always near?

The trees clap with joy,

The clouds parade in the sky,

The flowers dance around me,

The birds sing on high.

Surely the world around

Whispers of Your great plan;

O, the sweet things You do,

I praise You, Son of Man.

Lead me where You wish,

I follow You wherever You go;

Joy is being in Your presence,

Only love You show.

On my life horizon,

I see You, the Son, shining bright;

Jesus, I live for Your glory,

I live forever in Your Light.

Surely I need not worry,

I need not ever fear;

You, my Lord, are with me,

Yea, You are always near.

I trust the plans You have,

I yield to all You have in store;

My Lord, I give You my life,

I long only to give You more.

Like a child,
Innocent and sweet,
May I listen to You
Humbly at Your feet.

Wide-eyed and amazed,
Faithful and full of love,
Like a child may I look
Always Above.

Longing for You,
For Your protection and care,
Like a child may I cling
Keeping You to me near.

When You call my name,
May I hear home in Your voice;
Like a child running home,
In You may I rejoice.

When I fall and stumble
May I run quickly to You,
Like a child may I trust
In all that You do.

When victory I see,
May I know ‘tis not my own;
Like a child may I recall
I work never alone.

When darkness enshrouds,
When sun embraces with light,
Like a child may I see You
In day and in night.

Yea, like a child,
My Lord, ever may I be;
Yea, I am Your child
For all eternity.

May pride be far from me,
May humility ever reign;
May I trust as a child
Even in trial and in pain.

How I long for You,
For Your protection and care,
I cling to You, my Jesus,
Keeping You to me near.

Wide-eyed and amazed,
I marvel at Your love;
Like a child I look to Abba,
My Father Above.

How thankful I am, Lord,
That You and I did meet;
May I be Your child forever,
Innocent and sweet.
