God First Loved Us…

Lord, I feel Your love,

How it embraces me;

I need only see Your Cross,

I need only go to Calvary.

 

With Your arms outstretched,

Nailed upon the tree,

You shed Your blood for all,

You shed Your blood for me.

 

I knew You not, my Lord,

Far from You in my sin;

Yet You loved me still,

From You love does begin.

 

You Yourself are love,

The Source of love indeed;

Surely I see Your love,

For me You chose to bleed.

 

I love You, my sweet Jesus,

Because You first loved me;

I love You, my precious Lord,

Now and for all eternity.

 

How can I not love You?

 How can I not see all You do?

Your love transcends thought,

Eternal, enduring and true.

 

Here I am, my Lord,

I bow before You, my King;

My life I devote to You,

Jesus, You are my Everything.

 

We love the Lord,

Because He loved us first;

We love You, O Lord,

You quench our souls’ thirst.

 

When we knew You not,

You died for all our sin;

Your gave Your life in love,

From You life does begin.

 

With Your arms outstretched,

Nailed upon the tree,

You shed Your blood for all,

You died to set us free.

 

Lord, we feel Your love,

We sing of Your glory:

“Jesus loved us first,

See His love on Calvary.”
