Cherished Father, kind yet strong,

For you, Daddy, I dedicate this song.

Beloved and treasured, respected and admired,

A wealth of wisdom you have acquired.

Comfort and insight you readily share

With a compassion beyond compare.

You guide and direct out of love for me;

Always my best you desire to see.

When the way is rocky, when the path unclear,

Your soothing words to my heart are dear.

This Father’s Day I celebrate who you are,

Close to my heart, whether near or far.

For you are my Daddy, the Father I love,

Surely a blessing bestowed from Above.

My Heavenly Father I thank for you;

I praise Him for loving things you do.

Surely He smiles in the way you guide,

Surely He delights that you are by side.

Surely His love dwells in your heart,

Surely from Him you will never part.

So on this Day of Fathers of you I sing,

I celebrate the love to my life you bring.

Daddy, how much I love you;

How thankful I am for your love true.

What place is safer than your arms strong?

When the winds do blow, this is where I belong.

Yes, my cherished Father, kind yet strong,

On this Father’s Day I sing your song.

    Beautiful Caroline! So grateful to still have my dad and to be able to celebrate the wonderful father my husband is to our children. Most of all – I bless my Heavenly Father without Whom I would have nothing.

      Thank you, my beautiful sister and wonderful friend! Love simply shines in your words — and in your heart! I am so glad you are able to savor this day with the wonderful fathers in your life! With you I bless and praise our Heavenly Father. Yes, everything we have in our “Abba” Daddy! His richest blessings to you always…

    Caroline,

    That’s a beautiful poem. I am very thankful for my Heavenly Father — the only Daddy I really know because my earthly father died just after I turned 3.

    Have a Victorious Day!

      My beautiful sister,

      I too am very thankful for our Heavenly Father! He is our true and eternal Daddy! My heart goes out to you regarding the loss of your earthly father, and I appreciate your sharing this. My parents divorced when I was 3, and I rarely saw my father after that. Although these are different situations, I can relate on some level to your loss. I praise God that He is with us at all times in all things. I praise Him also for YOU!

      His graces and my gratitude,
      Caroline
